"Young SVP has been running in BCC for the last 3 years. The Committee meet regularly to work on ideas to promote the work of St Vincent de Paul in our school and in the local community. Young SVP organise fundraisers in the school. Last year the students involved raised €450 and this was presented to the local SVP President Maureen Byrne.
Young SVP have also visited St Marys Day Care Centre to play cards, bingo, and chat to the elderly people attending the centre. Every year students in the school donate items of food and these items are used to complie Christmas hampers. The hampers are then donated to the local SVP organisation for distribution to those in need in our community.
In April each year Young SVP @ BCC along with other Young SVP groups across the South East attend the Young SVP Conference at Waterford Institute of Technology Arena. At this event students take to the stage to inform everyone about their SVP work over the year. Their presentation can be given via drama, song, speech, or PowerPoint. It is always an interactive fun day out!"
