In conjunction with the English curriculum, drama workshops are held regularly and students attend plays and performances outside the school. Students take part in their own productions which are televised in the school to much acclaim. There are free music lessons on Wednesday afternoons. We also have, as part of our JCSP initiatives Music and Film workshops for Junior Certificate students, Make a Book Competitions and Make a Bodhrán Initiative. A number of Art students take part in the Texaco Art Competitions and the Google 'Design a Logo' Competition.
In Transition Year students have the option to choose the Film Studies module. The module is based in the Media Hub of the school where students have access to modern facilities and equipment including; A variety of cameras, GoPro and drone camera included; Greenscreen, lights, podcasting and radio station equipment. The Media dept. has had some success in film making over the last year winning 1st place and Runner-up in two national film making competitions.
In 2025 the school put on a successful variety show in St. Aiden's Hall, Bunclody. A Junk-Kouture fashion show, individual singing and poetry, a wondeful performance of the Isle of Hope depicting the story of Annie Moore, the first immigrant to sign in at Ellis Island, and of course the main event, all the hits from the musical Grease.
We hope to be even more succesful in 2026!
