Bunclody Community College 5K Run 2026
The inaugural Bunclody Community College 5K Run took place on Sunday, 26th April 2026 at 9:00am, bringing together participants of all ages and abilities for a memorable community event.
Walkers, joggers, and runners alike enjoyed the scenic beauty of Bunclody while taking part in a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere. The event celebrated community spirit, health, and wellbeing, and was a fantastic success.
All participants received a commemorative athletic T-shirt upon completion of the run/walk.
Prizes were awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Male and Female finishers, recognising outstanding performances on the day.
Looking Ahead to 2027
Planning is already underway for the 2027 Bunclody Community College 5K Run / Coláiste Pobail Bhun Clóidí 5K.

Run/Walk Route
The Run/Walk starts inside Bunclody Community College. Participants turn right out of the gate onto Irish Street, then take the first left at the junction. The route continues out along the N80 towards Carlow, with a slight uphill section, before reaching the turning point at the 2.5 km mark. Runners then retrace the same route back to finish inside Bunclody Community College.
The course is 5 km in total, with 2.5 km out to the turning point and 2.5 km back to the college.
