Bunclody Community College (BCC) is proud to announce its successful application to the Creative Clusters initiative, a flagship programme supported by the Department of Education through the Creative Ireland Programme. This exciting two-year project aims to nurture and enhance creativity in Irish schools by providing funding and support to schools working together as a “cluster” on a shared creative focus.
As the lead school in its newly formed STAR Creative Cluster, BCC will collaborate closely with Marshalstown National School and Our Lady of Lourdes N.S. to develop and implement a creative learning project tailored to the needs and interests of their students.
In line with the Department of Education’s Creative Clusters guidelines, which emphasise cross-curricular learning and student-led creativity, BCC will use the funding to support a selected group of 1st Year students. These students will work on a creative piece of their choosing, exploring themes and ideas through various artistic and academic lenses. Teachers across multiple subjects will collaborate to explore how the initiative can be woven into different areas of the curriculum.
This innovative programme, underpinned by national policy objectives outlined in Creative Youth, empowers schools to experiment with new teaching and learning approaches, helping to embed creativity at the heart of education.
